Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. The brand gained fame with its first pocket watch, the Broadway Limited, which served as a precise tool for telling train schedules. In 1914, it was selected as a supplier for the U.S. Air Force, and in 1919, it provided timekeeping services for skiing events. By 1930, many airlines used Hamilton as their official watch provider. During World War II, Hamilton paused its civilian sales and produced nearly a million military watches. The brand introduced the world's first digital watch, Pulsar, in 1970 and was acquired by the Omega-Tissot-Lanco group in 1977. Today, Hamilton operates under the Swatch Group.
