[Kijisha] The name "Kijisha" is a combination of the beautiful "Kijiya Valley" located close to the furniture workshop and the wild bird "pheasant" that is often seen in the area. The red bird perched on the logo is also based on this "pheasant". Kijiya Valley is said to be a valley where "woodturners", who turn wooden vessels on a lathe, once lived. In 1992, we came across this area where craftsmanship has been passed down since ancient times, and were attracted by the environment, so we built a small hut. Eight years later, in May 2000, the current furniture workshop was completed.
[Attention to detail] We are particular about making furniture from solid wood, which allows you to feel the quality of the material first. Solid wood furniture is furniture made from wood itself, cut from raw timber in the forest, sawn and processed, without using veneer or plywood. By using solid wood, you can feel the weight and warmth of the material itself. It is also strong and has a long lifespan, so it can continue to be used as antique furniture even after 100 years, and the more you use it, the more flavor it will develop.
[Clock with Ears] This clock with ears is made from a solid piece of natural wood, carefully crafted one by one in a workshop in Hida Takayama. The "ears" refer to the part where the bark was attached. By leaving these ears, it has become a wonderful interior piece that allows you to fully enjoy the warmth of wood while still being simple. The clock hands are all made of wood, with attention to detail. The back of the clock has a part for hanging on the wall, so it can also be used as a wall clock.
[Gifts] Great for housewarming, anniversaries, graduation, school entrance, baby showers, New Year's, gifts, birthdays, etc. Also great as souvenirs for overseas, wedding gifts, and gifts for special occasions.
