This is a "Nambu Ironware" iron kettle from Iwate Prefecture, Oshu. Its uniform thickness allows for excellent thermal conductivity and heat retention. The iron dissolves into the water boiled in the kettle, giving it a mellow flavor. Its beautiful appearance makes it a valuable addition to your home décor. OIGEN iron kettles are kiln-fired for traditional rust prevention. The unpainted, unglazed interior allows for the buildup of fine scale, allowing for the joy of developing your own unique kettle. We hope you will treasure it for years to come.
◎This kettle features a classic design featuring the traditional "arare" pattern of Nambu iron kettles. The arare pattern, which increases the thickness of the kettle and enhances its heat retention, reflects the ingenious wisdom and meticulous design of our ancestors, and is still passed down to this day. The handle folds down for convenient storage. It's neither too large nor too small, making it easy for both men and women to pour from.
